Helicopter was always just an idea for "one day". Here I'm sharing my experience behind my 1st ever glacier landing at Milford Sound. I'd never believed that I will have this luxuries opportunity to receive such a stunning experience. How did it happen what I actually felt? Keep on reading.
We always had this idea about a chopper ride somewhere in the world. Never did we know it will happen at one of the most famous places in New Zealand - Milford Sound. We both went to Milford for work as we truly wanted to experience something outstanding and ou, my - it turned out way better than expected.
On this particular day, we woke up as normal and just went to our work shift. when the time came to go on a long lunch break Artūrs came up with an idea - hey, let's get dressed, call Milford Airport and see if they have someone available to fly us over. WOW! It turned out stunning and you should definitely experience these moments with us. Video is available here.
How did it really felt?
I got so excited on the way there that I somehow forgot that I might get motion sickness. Thankfully it kicked in only on our way home. Funny but I truly could not enjoy our ride back home as I stayed on "the very edge" the whole time. Straight after the landing fresh air and water helped. No questions - pilot and Artūrs did laugh about me because this happens almost every time I get on the plane or boat, or any vehicle really where I can't control its movement. If you have some tips on how you're dealing with this issue - I'm all ears.
Now, it's time to enjoy the video and beautiful photo moments from our ever 1st helicopter flight with a glacier landing. Would you be scared?
The views are unreal and the feeling to finally experience something you've always wanted - outstanding!
I can't wait to hear what's your one thing that you want to do the most? Is it a helicopter ride, swim with dolphins, leave the country from the 1st time, plant a tree - let me know :)
